Firemonkeys server engineer positions

Firemonkeys, Melbourne-based game development studio, is looking to contract server engineers on a short term basis. There are three positions we are looking to fill:

DBA:

  • Knows how to use “EXPLAIN”
  • Preferably has used maatkit or percona-toolkit
  • Can optimise MySQL queries and apply indexes, and understands the impact of adding too many indexes

Server Engineer:

  • Has solid background in PHP development, preferably on Linux (CentOS/RedHat)
  • Preferably also has background in C++, but not essential
  • Has experience using XDebug, XHProf or similar PHP optimisation tools

Sys Admin:

  • Experience setting up syslog-ng, logstash, graylog2, ELSA or some other logging mechanism.
  • Experience with Zabbix
  • Experience with with Puppet
