  1. Dynamic Range Control: The compressor (ratio 2.5:1) gently reduces the dynamic range, making quieter elements more audible while preventing louder elements from overwhelming the mix.

  2. Sidechain Configuration:

    • Source: Set to "Middle" - This means the compressor is monitoring the midrange frequencies to determine when to apply compression. This is particularly useful for Synthwave as it allows the compressor to respond to the main synth elements while being less affected by bass or high frequencies.
    • Type: "Feed-forward" - This means the compressor responds to the input signal before processing it, resulting in more precise control.
    • Mode: "RMS" - Root Mean Square mode provides a more natural response to the average level of the music rather than peak levels.
